Welcome to Bishop Ready High School!
Since our founding in 1961, we have been dedicated to community service, academic excellence, Catholic virtues, and fostering an environment that encourages and enables the best in our students, alums, faculty, staff, and all of those who are connected to Bishop Ready.
As a co-educational Catholic high school, we take very seriously our charge to educate young men and women to think critically, to care for one another, to follow Christ's commands to love God and our neighbors, and to carry this mission into the wider world beyond our doors.
We are justifiably proud of our students' accomplishments: scholarships and grants to over 100 colleges and universities from Anderson University to Youngstown State University, including Harvard, Marymount Manhattan College, Ohio State University, the Pontifical College Josephinum, Purdue, the University of Notre Dame, Ursuline College, and The United States Military Academy at West Point (to name just a few).
Our alums have won numerous awards and honors in their professional lives, including a Pulitzer Prize in Journalism. They are doctors, lawyers, teachers, technicians, mothers, fathers, and members of religious orders. We believe, and we teach, that success is measured not only in dollars and accolades but also in lives well-lived and service to others. Our students volunteer to help those less fortunate and our alums work in areas that make life better for all of us.
We think of Bishop Ready as being a microcosm of the larger world around us; we see it as our responsibility to “better” that world, through words and deeds. Whether it’s through our academic curriculum (learning of different cultures, debating various solutions to problems) or through our co-and extra curricular activities (learning sportsmanship and the value of team work, lending a hand at a nursing home or food bank), our students are engaged in the world and are acutely aware of their ability to have an impact on their environment. The Catholic virtues that we treasure are not abstract to the Bishop Ready student!
Having celebrated our 50th Anniversary, we now are looking forward to the next 50 years and to the continued participation of our Ready family in making this world a better place for all! You are always welcome to visit with us and we hope to see you at our various band concerts, theatre performances, sporting events, and liturgies.
The best way to observe the Bishop Ready experience is in person...
we look forward to seeing you at Bishop Ready!
