College Credit Plus at BRHS

College Credit Plus (CCP) gives students an opportunity to earn college credit funded by the state of Ohio upon successful completion of the funding process. The CCP program is open to students in grades 7-12, and courses can be taken at BRHS, on a college campus, or online, keeping in mind schedules may not be able to be altered for courses off campus. Students must meet the admissions criteria and be accepted by the participating university. CCP courses at BRHS are subject to placement, teacher recommendation, academic ability, and prerequisites. Because of the infusion of Catholic identity across our curriculum, a CCP course will not replace a required graduation course.
Grades acquired in CCP courses will be permanently placed on both high school and college transcripts. They will carry AP weight, and are calculated into the GPA and class rank. Failed CCP courses will be placed on both transcripts, computed in GPA and ranking, and will require repayment to the state of Ohio. Any student who does not receive full funding for courses taught at BRHS, but otherwise meet course eligibility requirements, may take the CCP course and pay appropriate tuition and fees to the college. Upon graduation, students need to request an official transcript from the participating college in order to transfer the credits to the college institution they will be attending. Individual colleges set their own standards for transfer credits; therefore, it is the student’s responsibility to check with potential colleges outside of the CCP program, to see if CCP credit is accepted.
